Title : Greenland East Coast

Caption :

This image from the east coast of Greenland was captured on May 14, 2002. The Greenland Sea is clearing of sea ice away from the coast, and bare, brown ground is beginning to appear beneath the thinning snow along the rugged coastline. The reason the sea ice remains along the coast is that an icy ocean current — called the east Greenland Current — from the Arctic Ocean is making its way southward toward the North Atlantic Ocean along Greenland's coast.
